Although today was packed with studies, I took advantage of the beautiful morning by visiting the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden, established in 1873 by its namesake. A very kind and knowledgeable volunteer, Ron Overton, gave me an extensive tour of the garden. He told a story with each portion of the garden, always relating the plants to occasions in history and far off geographies. He was amazing!
